Yes, absolutely! Menjangan Island is one of the safest places in Bali to learn diving. Sites like Sandy Slope or POS 1 have very calm waters, no strong currents, and a shallow sandy bottom, which is perfect for your first time.
For the Discover Scuba program, the maximum depth is 12 meters (40 feet). However, we usually start in very shallow water (about 1–2 meters) to practice basic skills until you feel confident enough to go deeper.
Your instructor will give you a “briefing” (short lesson) about:
